Alan Steppe
Patrick James Riley, who was born on March 20, 1945, is an American professional basketball executive. He has also worked as a coach and played as a player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Since 1995, he has held the position of team president for the Miami Heat. Additionally, he took on the role of head coach for the team from 1995 to 2003 and then again from 2005 to 2008.
Riley, who is often called “The Godfather,” is considered to be one of the most influential figures in NBA history. He has achieved great success both as a coach and as an executive. As a head coach, he has achieved an impressive feat by winning five NBA championships. Four of these championships were with the Los Angeles Lakers during the exciting Showtime era in the 1980s, while the remaining one was with the Miami Heat in 2006.
Riley has had an impressive career in the NBA, winning a total of nine championships. He achieved this success in various roles, including as a player in 1972, assistant coach in 1980, head coach in 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, and 2006, and as an executive in 2012 and 2013. Riley has been involved in 25 percent of all NBA Finals throughout his career in the NBA. This includes his time as a player, coach, and executive.
