Ja Morant, whose full name is Temetrius Jamel Morant, is a talented basketball player from the United States. He currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA. In 2019, he was a sophomore and played college basketball for the Murray State Racers. He did really well and was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American.

Despite being named All-Region Most Valuable Player three times and earning All-State honors at Crestwood High School in Sumter, South Carolina, Morant wasn’t heavily recruited by NCAA Division I programs and wasn’t ranked by recruiting services. However, he quickly made a strong impression at Murray State University by receiving first-team all-conference honors in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) during his freshman year.

In his sophomore season, he had an amazing performance. He won the OVC Player of the Year award and also led the NCAA in assists. Morant accomplished a remarkable feat during his sophomore year in college basketball. He became the first player ever in NCAA history to maintain an average of over 20 points and 10 assists per game for an entire season.

The Grizzlies chose Morant as the second overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft, and he was given the title of NBA Rookie of the Year in 2020. He became a starter in the NBA All-Star Game for the first time in 2022. Morant had an amazing season and was recognized for his outstanding performance. He won the NBA Most Improved Player Award and was also chosen for his first All-NBA Team.

Even though he’s only 23 years old, Ja Morant has a sweet little daughter named Kaari Jaidyn Morant who is just 3 years old. The Grizzlies’ star player frequently brings his daughter to their games. It’s adorable to see the little one sitting with her grandfather, Tee Morant.
