Dennis Rader Children: Meet Kerri Rawson And Brian Rader

BTK, the BTK Strangler, or the BTK Killer, all refer to American serial killer Dennis Lynn Rader. Between 1974 and 1991, he murdered ten people in Wichita and Park City, Kansas, and then mockingly sent letters to the police and the media explaining his crimes.

On March 9, 1945, Rader entered the world as the youngest of four sons to Dorothea Mae Rader (née Cook) and William Elvin Rader. Both Pittsburg and Columbus, Kansas, lay claim to being Rader’s place of birth.

He has Wichita roots because there is where he grew up. Later in life, Rader reflected on how he resented his parents for not paying more attention to him because of how busy they were with their careers.

Ever since he was a young boy, Rader fantasized about torturing “trapped and helpless” women.

He was also a zoosadist, as evidenced by his torture, murder, and hanging of little animals.

On May 22, 1971, Dennis Rader and Paula Dietz said their vows to one another. While they were living a normal married life, Dietz had no idea of his darker side.

The day after Rader’s arrest, Dietz filed for divorce and it was granted. After her arrest, Dietz left Kansas for good in an effort to stay out of the public eye, and she has largely succeeded.

Dennis Rader Children: Meet Kerri Rawson And Brian Rader

When Dennis Rader’s two adult children found out in 2005 that their father had been a deviant serial killer—the notorious BTK Killer (bind, torture, kill) in Kansas—they were startled.

Kerri Rawson, the lone child of Dennis Rader, has spoken openly about the effects of having grown up in the same house as a serial killer.

Like her mother, Rawson never visited her incarcerated father in jail or attended any of his court hearings. However, she did write to him while he was there. She has spoken publicly many times about her father and published a book with the title A Serial Killer’s Daughter: My Story of Faith, Love, and Overcoming.

Kerri Rawson, the child of the BTK Killer, has been remarkably candid about her experiences, in contrast to Dennis Rader’s lone son, who has opted to maintain his privacy.

Nobody really knows what Brian Rader does on a daily basis. Rawson, on the other hand, has previously described her sibling as “intelligent.” The Wichita Eagle states that from 2004 through 2009, a young man named Brian Rader served in the United States Navy. Brian’s dad was in the military for about a year before being suspected of being the BTK Killer.
