Alan Steppe
Donald Foss is an American entrepreneur and businessman. He is best known as the founder of Credit Acceptance Corporation (CAC), a company that provides financing programs for automobile dealerships and consumers with subprime credit. Foss started the company in 1972 and grew it into one of the largest subprime auto lenders in the United States.
Under Foss’s leadership, Credit Acceptance Corporation became a publicly traded company and expanded its operations nationwide. Foss served as the CEO of the company until his retirement in 2017. He has received recognition for his contributions to the automotive finance industry and has been featured on Forbes’ list of billionaires.
