Julius Winfield Erving, commonly known as Dr. J, is a former professional basketball player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He played the majority of his career in the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Dr. J was known for his electrifying style of play, incredible athleticism, and highlight-reel dunks. He played as both a small forward and shooting guard, leaving a lasting impact on the game through his scoring ability, defense, and leadership skills.
