Charles Darwin, the renowned naturalist known for his theory of evolution through natural selection, had ten children with his wife, Emma Wedgwood:

William Erasmus Darwin (1839–1914) – He became a banker in Southampton.
Anne Elizabeth Darwin (1841–1851) – Sadly, Anne died at a young age, an event that deeply affected both Charles and Emma.
Mary Eleanor Darwin (1842) – She died shortly after birth.
Henrietta Emma “Etty” Darwin (1843–1929) – She edited her father’s manuscript on earthworms and was also the author of the memoir about her mother.
George Howard Darwin (1845–1912) – He became an accomplished astronomer and mathematician.
Elizabeth Darwin (1847–1926) – Known as “Bessy,” she remained unmarried and lived with her brother Francis.
Francis Darwin (1848–1925) – He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a botanist.
Leonard Darwin (1850–1943) – He pursued various careers, including soldier, economist, eugenicist, and politician.
Horace Darwin (1851–1928) – He became an engineer and founded the Cambridge Scientific Instrument Company.
Charles Waring Darwin (1856–1858) – Unfortunately, he died at a young age.

Darwin’s children had varied careers, and several of them became notable in their respective fields. The Darwin family as a whole was intellectually active, and many members contributed to the sciences and other fields of study.
