Everything you need to know about Georgiana Spencer children

Georgiana Spencer, the Duchess of Devonshire (1757–1806), was a prominent British socialite, political organizer, style icon, author, and aristocrat of the late 18th century. She married William Cavendish, the 5th Duke of Devonshire, and they had three children:

Lady Georgiana Dorothy Cavendish (1783–1858): Later became the Countess of Carlisle.
Lady Harriet Elizabeth Cavendish (1785–1862): Later became Countess Granville.
William George Spencer Cavendish (1790–1858): He became the 6th Duke of Devonshire.
Additionally, Georgiana had an illegitimate daughter with Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey (who later became the Prime Minister and for whom the famous tea is named):

Eliza Courtney (1792–1859): She was raised by Grey’s parents and was kept mostly separate from both her biological parents, though Georgiana secretly visited her.
The life of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, was the subject of a biography by Amanda Foreman and later became the basis for the movie “The Duchess,” starring Keira Knightley as Georgiana.
