Valerie Anne Bertinelli is an actress from the United States. As a teenager, she gained fame by playing the character Barbara Cooper Royer on the TV show One Day at a Time. Her performance earned her two Golden Globe Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or Television Film. Afterwards, she became well-known as Gloria on the religious drama series Touched by an Angel and Melanie Moretti on the sitcom Hot in Cleveland. Her performance on the latter earned her a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award. She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2012.
Bertinelli has been the host of a few shows on Food Network, including Valerie’s Home Cooking and Kids Baking Championship. She won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Valerie’s Home Cooking, out of six nominations. Bertinelli recently signed a new deal with Food Network in December 2021. Bertinelli was married to rock musician Eddie Van Halen, and they have one child together named Wolfgang. She was married to Tom Vitale for 11 years, from 2011 to 2022.
