Joey and Rory Feek were a husband-and-wife country music duo. Joey Martin Feek was born on September 9, 1975, in Alexandria, Indiana, and Rory Lee Feek was born on April 25, 1965, in Atchison, Kansas. They gained national attention when they competed on the reality TV show “Can You Duet” in 2008 and finished in third place.
The couple released several albums together, including “The Life of a Song” in 2008, which received positive reviews and earned them a nomination for the Academy of Country Music’s Top Vocal Duo award. They continued to release music and gained a devoted fan base with their heartfelt lyrics and traditional country sound.
Tragically, Joey Feek was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014. Despite undergoing treatments, her condition worsened, and she passed away on March 4, 2016, at the age of 40. Her battle with cancer was chronicled in a heartwarming documentary called “To Joey, With Love.”
Following Joey’s passing, Rory has continued to honor her memory and their musical legacy. He released a solo album, “Gentle Man,” in 2019, and has shared updates about their daughter, Indiana, who was born with Down syndrome.
