According to Meta, the new system still uses current security measures like two-factor authentication, so the modifications shouldn’t make life any easier for irritating identity thieves and hackers.

Users of iOS, Android, and the web are currently receiving this update, albeit slowly; Meta has not said when it will be made generally accessible. However, it did make a hints that it would transfer the technology to WhatsApp and other organizations under its control.
