Larry Hoover, who was born on November 30, 1950, is an American ex-mobster and leader of a gang. He founded the Gangster Disciples, a street gang in Chicago.
Currently, Hoover is incarcerated at the ADX Florence prison facility in Colorado, where he is serving six life sentences. Initially, he had been given a sentence of life imprisonment along with an additional 200 years for a murder that occurred in 1973.
After a 17-year investigation, he was found guilty of conspiracy, extortion, money laundering, and running a criminal enterprise from prison. In 1997, Hoover was given another life sentence. He has tried several times to get his sentence shortened.
