Ghanaian artiste, Edem switches career, set to contest NDC constituency race

Denning Edem Hotor is a famous Ghanaian hip hop singer who goes by the stage name “Edem Goget’em.” He has said that he wants to run for political office and help make policy in his home country.

On Tuesday, March 21, the Ghanaian artist went to Twitter to declare he was entering politics “fully active” under the platform of the opposition National Democratic Congress. (NDC).

He is however set to announce the constituency he intends to contest on Wednesday, March 22, ahead of the NDC primaries scheduled for May 13.

Edem joins a tall list of Ghanaian celebrities who later pursued politics in life, including the likes of John Dumelo, also of the NDC, George Quaye of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Kojo Bonsu (NDC), and Fritz Baffour, a former Member of Parliament for the Ablekuma South constituency, among a host of others.
