Despite the Oculus Quest 2 successor’s alleged late-2023 arrival, it has already been mentioned. This virtual reality headgear, which is most likely dubbed Meta (Oculus) Quest 3, may make use of a novel OLED and a proprietary CPU.

What Date Will the Release of Meta (Oculus) Quest 3 Be?

Although Meta hasn’t really released any information regarding this headgear, we can make an educated guess as to when it could be on sale.

The first version of Oculus Quest was made available in May 2019, and the second version followed in the fall of 2020. The Oculus Quest Pro is anticipated after, maybe in the fall of 2022. This suggests that the fabled Quest 3 might appear in 2023.

Prices for Meta (Oculus) Quest 3

The initial Oculus Quest cost $399 for the 64 GB model. The 128 GB Quest 2 is now available for $299.

If this pattern holds, it points to an even more affordable pricing for the 2023 Quest headset. There are only two versions to base this on, so it’s not really a trend so much as a wish we have since a trend like this doesn’t last forever.

Of course, in an ideal world, we’d acquire a VR headset for a lot less money than we did last year, but as of right now, we have no idea what kind of technology advancements and other adjustments will be made to this gadget. Price predictions are currently only educated assumptions in the absence of public pronouncements from Meta.

Pre-Order Details

Pre-order launch date is yet uncertain. When one is made accessible, we’ll post a link here.

Pre-orders for The Quest 2 started almost a full month before it became available, so this time we could see the same sequence.

Meta (Oculus) Quest 3 Hardware and Specs

Brad Lynch, an expert for XR hardware, claims that this headset will be the first to utilise uOLED (ultra-OLED, an upgraded version of OLED). Expect at least 120Hz and greater lens resolution than the Quest 2’s 1832×1920/eye. The refresh rate will almost certainly stay the same or even go up.

Additionally, it will sport a unique chipset. This SoC will “concentrate on a GPU that is better adapted for VR loads,” according to Lynch. To give you some context, the Quest 2 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 CPU. While v3 could be feasible by the time the Quest 3 is out, Meta is reportedly choosing an internal processor.
Again, it’s early, and many rumors appear to be confusing the Quest 3 with Quest Pro, so it’s not yet simple to distinguish the two. As we continue to incorporate everything else we understand about the Quest 3, be sure to check back for updates.
